Pronunciation Lexicon is available on the Enterprise plan.
The Pronunciation Lexicon in Tutorial AI is a powerful tool that enables you to define how specific words are pronounced. This can be especially valuable when working with words that commonly see mispronunciations in AI-generated speech, such as technical terms, unusual abbreviations, or special brand names.
This article will guide you through the steps needed to add, edit, and manage entries in the pronunciation lexicon. By customizing pronunciations, you improve the clarity and professionalism of your AI-generated tutorials and projects.
Accessing and Setting Up the Pronunciation Lexicon
open the Pronunciation Lexicon panel on the left side of the interface and select Add Languages.
add the languages you plan to use in your project. This will allow you to customize pronunciations across multiple languages as needed.
Adding a New Pronunciation Entry
Click New Pronunciation to add a new word to your lexicon.
Enter the term’s written form into the lexicon. This is where you'll paste or type the target word or phrase.
By default, new entries apply to all AI voices. However, you can override the pronunciation for a specific AI voice actor by adding the same entry again and selecting a different AI voice from the dropdown.
Defining the Respelling (Phonetic Form)
Specify the phonetic or Respelling form for your entry.
After saving, this will update the pronunciation of the word across all of your projects within your workspace.
Regenerating Audio With New Pronunciations
Return to your project. If your project tab was open, remember to click Regenerate audio in selection from the context menu. This will ensure the updated pronunciation is reflected in all relevant audio outputs.
Adding Pronunciations in Additional Languages
Go back to your lexicon if you need to add entries for other languages. Adding language-specific pronunciations is important for multilingual content or when switching narration to another voice or locale.
Add pronunciations in additional languages as needed. This allows the AI to pronounce the same term appropriately in each selected language.
Checking Your Pronunciation Entry
After saving any pronunciation, you may want to check how the AI will pronounce your lexicon entry using the purple Play icon. This helps confirm that the respelling sounds as expected before you publish your audio.
Managing Pronunciation Lexicons Across Workspaces
Keep in mind that pronunciation lexicons are specific to each workspace in Tutorial AI. Each workspace maintains its own set of pronunciation entries and languages.
If you use multiple workspaces or move projects to a different workspace, you will need to recreate the necessary lexicon for your new location. Entries do not transfer automatically between workspaces.
